Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, additional photography has ended

It looks like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness goes into post-production for good. The highly anticipated Strange follow-up has been filming some serious reshoots since November, and franchise star Benedict Cumberbatch now says those reshoots are finally over.

In a new profile with Deadline, it was revealed that additional photographs were wrapped on Saturday, giving the Doctor strange the team spent almost two full months shooting additional scenes or modifying existing scenes as a result of test screenings. Cumberbatch wouldn’t say the exact reasons why covers were needed, but before that, a large part of the cast members’ schedules were there.

“We’re in the middle of new shots,” Cumberbatch said Empire magazine last November. “We’re working incredibly hard to make a timeline work to realize the full potential of the film – pieces that we want to do better but also pieces that were just simply impossible to do on the same day because of logistics, COVID, etc.”

He added, “We were so delayed in production because of this. Fortunately, not too much during production. Although everything is just a little slower.

Marvel Studios head of production Victoria Alonso confirmed that the covers were still in progress last December, and Kevin Feige himself has applauded the method of directing for allowing the studio to make the best possible film. In a conversation with the New York Film Academy in 2019, the producer said covers are an integral part of the studio process.

“The covers are essential to our films, starting with Iron Man. We always say we’re smart filmmakers at Marvel, but we’re not geniuses and the best way to give ratings on a movie is to watch the movie, ”Feige said in 2019.“ So we make the movie and come on, ‘Oh yeah, no that’s not true. It doesn’t work ”, and now you have a system that can be quite precise and efficient. [Reshoots last] sometimes a day, sometimes a fortnight, sometimes longer to keep coming in and doing the best possible.
