The Tricity Photo Art Society will hold an exhibition on World Photography Day on August 19

CHANDIGAR: North India’s premier photography club, Tricity Photo Art Society (TPAS) in collaboration with Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi (CLKA) is celebrating World Photography Day on 19th August this year by organizing the 7th edition of the prestigious exhibition of its members, DRISHTI -2022. This was jointly disclosed by the President of CLKA and the President of TPAS, Mr. Bheem Malhotra and Mrs. Neetu Katyal respectively.

This photographic extravaganza is held in the CLKA Gallery on the second floor of the Rani Laxmi Bai Bhawan in Sector 38C, Chandigarh. DRISHTI-2022 will feature 47 works by 26 artists. Continuing its commitment, TPAS continues to promote the young people as well as the new talents of the Tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

Along with the exhibition, CLKA and TPAS will hold workshops on creative and surreal photography, bird photography, single-light portraiture, and the basics of post-processing. Experts in these fields, Mr. Deep Bhatia, Mr. Anuj Jain, Ms. Neetu Katyal and Mr. Praveen Jaggi, respectively, will share their knowledge and experiences through slideshows. Also, internationally acclaimed photographer, Mr. Vinod Chauhan, who continues to be ranked as the #1 travel photographer, will lecture on his monumental photographic documentation of Udasies by Guru Nanak Dev ji through a slideshow of his historical work, Charan Chhoh – Punjab. All these workshops are open to everyone, free of charge.

Running August 19-23, 2022, the photography extravaganza is TPAS’ first post-COVID pandemic event. During the pandemic, when activities were restricted, TPAS organized nearly 30 workshops and online interactions with internationally renowned photographic artists.

In the latest issue of its monthly magazine, Viewfinder, the Federation of Photography of India (FIP) has announced that TPAS patron Mr. Deep Bhatia has been commissioned to lead a workshop and live demonstration on droplet photography. during the three-day FIP convention (November 17th to 19th, 2022) at Digha in West Bengal. This is a rare honor for Chandigarh tricity especially TPAS.

It is also worth mentioning that the first female President of TPAS, Mrs. Neetu Katyal, was accepted as a jury for nearly a dozen national and international photography competitions and awards. Also a senior member of TPAS, Mr. Anuj Jain’s iconic images in bird photography have featured in national and international photography journals, magazines and newspapers.
