New Delhi: Unacademy, today reveals behind the scenes of its latest brand film titled- Lesson 7, featuring cricketing legend MS Dhoni. Launched in January, the film exceeded 100 million people in less than two months. The film presented a metaphorical portrayal of Dhoni’s life journey with the vision to help learners pursue their dreams with perseverance.
In his latest film, Unacademy highlighted the use of CGI to create an allegorical representation to highlight the obstacles Dhoni overcomes to become “the legend”. Moving away from traditional concepts, the brand embraced the new-age, CGI (computer graphics) style of storytelling, which allows viewers to watch stories in ways that would be difficult or impossible to do with the photography.
With an intensive production of more than 200 teams on the live set, 7 days of stunts and preparation, 5 days of shooting, 4 high speed and high resolution cameras, more than 40 artists for post-production from India, d Argentina, Portugal, and the United States and over three months of VFX, the film took 8 months to take shape.
The 85-second film was a hit with audiences as it trended on Twitter at the time. Seat number 1 on launch day and has now received more 8000000 views and 56K likes on the platform since January. The film also garnered over 100 million views on social media and digital platforms. Fans also praised Unacademy for showing how a persistent approach can break down barriers and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Unacademy kicked off the making of the film to showcase the advanced approaches the brand is exploring to create new touchpoints with its learners. This is in line with the brand’s vision to continue to introduce new-age and gamified education methods for learners for a holistic learning experience. The film was promoted on social media and digital platforms to create touchpoints with learners throughout Dhoni’s life journey.
